Abdi M. Omar aka “Pistol Rock”

Meet Abdi M. Omar, known in the industry as “Pistol Rock”, a talented filmmaker hailing from South London. With over a decade of experience directing and producing music videos, short films, documentaries, social media content, and podcasts, Pistol has made a name for himself in the film world.

Pistol’s love for film started at an early age, immersing himself in classics such as The Godfather, Alien, and Django by Sergio Corbucci. Later on, he discovered the works of legendary filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese and Paul Thomas Anderson, which further ignited his passion for the craft.

Pistol’s favourite film genres include drama, black comedy, and character-driven films. Some of his all-time favourite films include Goodfellas, La Haine, Hard Eight (Sydney), Blue Valentine, and Taxi Driver. He draws inspiration from visionary directors such as Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, Nicolas Winding Refn, David Fincher, and Spike Lee.

When he’s not working on film projects, Pistol loves to indulge in TV shows such as The Wire, True Detective, Sopranos, Corner Gas, and IT Crowd. With his exceptional skills and vast knowledge of film.

 

 

 

 

Tendai

Tendai, a North Londoner, is a scientist by day and a DJ, producer, and promoter by night. With over two decades of experience in DJing and running club nights all over the world, he has played at major London clubs like Fabric and Heaven, as well as festivals like Glastonbury. He has performed in Brazil, Japan, and other countries. Tendai has also been involved in organizing club nights, concerts, fashion shows, festivals, and art exhibitions.

 

Tendai brings his lifelong love and extensive knowledge of film and TV to the podcast, particularly in the arthouse, anime, thriller, and horror genres. His favorite films include The French Connection, Ghost in the Shell Innocence, and Mad Max Fury Road, while his favorite directors are Nicolas Winding Refn, David Fincher, Bong Joon Ho, Takashi Miike, and David Lynch. He also has a deep appreciation for TV shows like Carnivale, The Wire, Hannibal, The Leftovers, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Breaking Bad, and The Americans.
